Later, toward the end of the 1800s we saw machines that could not only calculate, but save data. Here we see the emergence of the fist computers that we can accurately consider ‘modern’.
The Father of modern computer science
Long before web design and HTML code, Alan Turing was pushing the boundaries of computer theory. Known today as the father of modern computer science, Turing worked as a code breaker during the Second World War. At the Bletchley Park headquarters in England, Turing lead a team of mathematical experts who worked to crack the German Enigma Code. While Turing did not create a computer, his work laid the theoretical foundation for others to follow.
