When viewing your image or design, the hardware of choice is a nice flat-screen computer monitor. However, if you would like to print out a hard copy version of your design, a laser printer is the only way to go.

Compared to a inkjet computer printer or a dot matrix computer printer, a laser printer represents a wonderful combination of software and hardware. But how does a computer use a laser to print?
The technology used by a laser printer revolves around the use od static electricity. Inside the computer printer, a condensed beam of light, a laser, shoots an image onto a rotating drum that is covered with a photo sensitive substance, not completely different than the film used in cameras. The substance reacts with the light and the image is burned onto the drum. The printer then covers the drum with toner, a type of black powder that acts as ink, and the paper is run over the drum to receive the image.

While laser printers are typically the most expensive of the three printer types, affordable laser computer printers can be found for less than 100 dollars. Computer laser printers are fast and accurate, meaning they can complete complex tasks quickly anmd leave you with an impressive image. Also, computer laser printers are quiet, and as far as refilling them when they are empty, toner cartirdgesare not cheap, but they have a longer life than most other types of computer printers.
