Computer Viruses March 28, 2011
Posted by pixelreda in : General , trackbackWithout an effective anti virus software program running on your computer it’s only a matter of time before a computer virus program infects your computer and either allows your private information to be stolen or slowly but surely erodes your computer functions until it is nothing more than an expensive nightstand.
Computer Viruses
A computer virus is a blanket term for a malicious computer program that can replicate inside a computer once downloaded. A computer virus can enter your computer in a variety of ways through internet files via a clicked link, photo or email attachment as well as through an external hardware device, CD or USB drive. Incorrectly, many people use the term virus to refer to any type of malicious software code found on a computer’s. The main difference between malware and a computer virus is the fact that a virus can replicate itself where malware does not.
Computer Malware
It can be said that malware is a simpler and perhaps somewhat less destructive form of malicious software. Malware can take the form of the following; adware which puts pop-up ads on your computer, spyware an invisible software code that tracks and sends information to another computer, trojan horses that are malicious software programs made to look like useful programs and computer worms which are programs designed to use spread toother computers via networks.
Anitivus Software
I often ask myself what sort person would want to create a computer virus. Be they interested in stealing information or simply creating anguish for others, these people and their malicious software programs are a fact of life. The only solution is vigilance and an effective antivirus program.
