Web Directions 2011 web design conference May 11, 2011

The 2011 Web Directions web design conference will be held in London, UK from May 24 to May 27, 2011. The conference known as European Web Community Event will have a full program of speakers, web design workshops, conferences, social events and networking opportunities.

Web Directions is an Australian web design conference developed in order to bring together users from the entire web spectrum; web designers, computer engineers, software programmers as well as those from the mobile content, gaming, data and the computer field in general. Conferences are split into Web Directions North, which takes places in Vancouver, Canada and Web Directions South taking place in Sydney, Australia. Web Directions, rather than focusing on just keynote speakers, relies upon the pioneers of the web design field providing entertaining and compelling speeches as well as a healthy dose of networking.

The program begins on Thursday May 26, 2011 with a speech called A new Network by software developer and writer Tom Coates. The following speaker will be Lea Verou speaking about CSS3 web design. There will also be presentation by computer programmer and Java script guru, Douglas Crockford. Day two will feature a presentation by web designer Andy Clark concerning CSS design. Following will be a presentation by web designer and software engineer Paul Annet from Alpha.gov.uk. The group runs an experimental new website that will be a one-stop shop for the UK government putting all computer and web based services under one platform.
